To me, a picture is more than a likeness. It is a moment I shape – with light, attitude and a clear idea. For me, photography is a way of creating art.
For more than twenty years I have worked in portrait, fashion and beauty. Over that time I have learned that the strongest images are made where technique and feeling meet. Where a person isn’t posing, but showing who they are.
I’m interested in what lies between the lines: a glance, a gesture, a shadow on the skin. I like to work with reduced, precise light and with a visual language somewhere between editorial and cinema. The lens is my most important tool, because it decides how a story is told.
Every shoot starts with a conversation. I want to understand who is in front of my camera and what the picture should say. Only then does something lasting emerge.
Alongside photography I also work with moving images. To me, film and photo are two languages of the same attitude.
